Kharta Valley Trek 20 Days

We offer you two itinerary for Karta Valley trek the first one is drive from Kathmandu to Nyalam, Cross Shao La [4970 m], Cross Langma La [5330M] and fly back to Kathmandu. Option 2 is fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa and commence trek is vice versa. It is a spectacular walk along steep-sided valleys and glacial lakes, and if the weather allows, some of the grandest Himalayan scenery to be found. In the summer, spectacular grassland flowers are in bloom in the remote Kangshung valley, famed as the valley of flower.

On a clear day the view south from Langma La is outstanding. We see Makalu, which dwarfs all the other peaks from this angle, including Everest. The big trio at the far west end of the Kangshung valley, from left to right, are Lhotse Shar, Lhotse and Mount Everest. The valleys and ridges below the snowline are richly covered with grasses and thick vegetation nurtured by the monsoon rains that manage to sneak behind these mountains.

Day 01 Drive to the Border, cross border and further drive to Nyalam
Day 02 Rest day at Nyalam for acclimatization
Day 03 Drive to Kharta [10 hours]
Day 04 Rest day in Kharta for further acclimatization
Day 05 Trek to Lundrubling
Day 06 Cross Shao La [4970 m] & trek to Kaamo tsangpo valley
Day 07 Trek to Khangsung valley
Day 08 Trek to Pethang Ringmo
Day 09 Pethang Ringmo to Hoppo
Day 10 Trek to Kangshung base camp & return to Hoppo
Day 11 Trek to Base of Langma La
Day 12 Cross Langma La [5330M] & trek to Lundrubling
Day 13 Trek to Kharta
Day 14 Drive to Rongbuk
Day 15 Explore Everest base camp & drive to Lhatse
Day 16 Drive to Gyantse
Day 17 Sightseeing & drive to Lhasa
Day 18 Sightseeing in Lhasa
Day 19 Sightseeing in Lhasa
Day 20 Fly to Kathmandu

Option 2

Day 01 : Fly Kathmandu to Lhasa. Upon arrival at Gonggar airport, you shall be met and transfer provided to Lhasa City. O/nt at Hotel.

Day 02-03 : Lhasa Sightseeing Tour
Visit The Potala Palace & Norbulinka Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung & Sera Monastery and Barkhor Bazaar. O/nts at Hotel in Lhasa.

Day 04 : Drive to Gyantse via The Lake Yamdrok-Tso. Visit the Khumbum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery. O/nt at Hotel Gyantse.

Day 05 : Embark on a pleasant drive to Shigatse visiting Shalu Monastery enroute. Check into hotel. Later in the afternoon, visit the Bazaar & The Tashilunpo Monastery. O/nt at Hotel Shigatse.

Day 06 : Drive to Xegar. O/nt at Hotel Quomolangma.

Day 07 : Drive to Kharta. Camp.

Day 08 : Trek to Tamoche. Camp.

Day 09 : Trek to Sagar. Camp.

Day 10 : Trek to Pola Tal via Doya Pass. Camp.

Day 12 : Explore The Everest Base Camp. Return to Rongphu for o/nt. Camp.

Day 13 : Drive to Tingri. Camp.

Day 14 : Drive to China Base Camp. Camp.

Day 15 : Trek to Cho - Oyu Base Camp. Camp.

Day 16 : Climb Balung - Ri. Camp.

Day 17 : Return to China Base Camp.

Day 18 : Drive to Tingri. Camp.

Day 19 : Drive to Zhangmu. Proceed further to Kodari. O/nt at Hotel in Kodari.

Day 20 : Your final leg of journey to Kathmandu
