Rongbuk Everest Base Camp, We walk via
a high ridge shoulder with good views of Mount Everest, to the village of Zommug.
Lhasa is the highest altitudinal city in the
world. Lhasa has the pride of highest peaked city in the world with the altitude
of 3650meters. Potala Palace, built in 1645 AD having 1000 rooms, 10000 shrines
and 100000 statues, is magnificent to look. The Jhokhanng Temple in the city
built in 17th century is the Budhhist shrine brought to Tibet from Nepal. This
shrine has various attractive arts and crafts, which impress the tourists. in
the towns of Shigatse and Gyantse where we explore monasteries and fully immerse
ourselves in the Buddhist culture.The trek will take you up the historic expedition route from Old Tingri to Rongbuk Monastery crossing the Langma La pass (5200m). Later hike up to the North Everest Base Camp and explore the Rongbuk glacier set directly below the massive north-face of Mount Everest. After gazing at the worlds highest mountain scenery from Rongbuk drive by way of the amazing Himalayas Highway to Kathmandu of Nepal.
Suggested Trek Itinerary is as:
Option 1
Day 01: Fly to LHASA at 06:45 am or 07:05am from Chengdu. Rest of the day free in Lhasa to acclimatize the hgih alltitute. Overnight Kailashi Hotel or Kyiri hotel.
Day 02: LHASA SIGHTSEEING Sightseeing of POTALA PALACE, SERA MONASTERY & NORBULINGKA PALACE. Overnight Kailashi hotel or Kyiri Hotel.
Day 03: LHASA SIGHTSEEING Sightseeing of DREPUNG & JOKHANG MONASTERY & BARKHOR MARKET. Overnight Kyichu Hotel.
Day 04: GYANTSE Drive LHASA to GYANTSE via YAMDROK TSHO (Turquoise Lake).
Afternoon sightseeing of PHALKOR MONASTERY, KUMBUM STUPA and GYANTSE MARKET. Overnight Wutse Hotel.
Day 05: SHIGATSE Drive GYANTSE to XIGATSE. Afternoon sightseeing tour of TASHILUNGPO MONASTERY and XIGATSE MARKET. Overnight Shengkang (Holy land) Hotel.
Day 06: TINGRI Drive Shigatse to New TINGRI-- Checkpoint -- Small bridge
Trek 2.5 hours till you go over a bridge then overnight Camp at the foot of the Zekula mountains
Day 07: TREK( a hard day )
Ttrek over the Zegula pass(5200m),AT THE PASS, you can see 4 peaks over 8200m,then down to Zhaxi zong. Overnight Camp.
Day 08: TREK Continue trek to Rounbuk river after passing by Qu Zong village. Overnight Camp.
Day 09:TREK to Rongbuk monastery. Overnight Camp.
Day 10: EVREST BASE CAMP Optional day-hike to Everest Base Camp and Rongbuk Glacier.
Overnight Camp.
Day11: Drive you to Qubu bridge,then start trekking from there.trek 3-4 hours to the foot of Mt.Lamna La, Overnight CAMP
Day12: TREK from camping site to mountain foot over the Lamna La pass. Overnight CAMP
Day13:TREK TO LUNGJIANG Trek along the river to Lungjiang village. Overnight CAMP
Day14:TREK TO OLD TINGRI Trek to Old Tingri by the river. Then rest.CAMP
Day 15: TO ZANGMU Drive over the Himalayas and down to border town of ZANGMU.
Overnight ZANGMU Hotel.
Day 16: KATHMANDU After going through China Customs, then cross the Friendship Bridge into Nepal.
